What Is A Thankful Turkey?
A few years back, a friend said to me “you must be really nice or something because I am not sure how you convinced Emily to marry you.” His thought process was on point – I am not sure how I convinced Emily to marry me. She is very loving, makes our house fun and is always is coming up with unique ways to teach our girls character traits we want them to embody as they grow older. Her most recent idea was a “Thankful Turkey.” During the month of November, our oldest daughter (Hallie) picks something that she is thankful for each night before she goes to bed and we then write down what she is thankful for on the turkey feather. Hallie gets to pick the color of the feather and she looks forward to it all day!

You can see that Hallie has been thankful for some pretty random things… our plumber (we had a recent clog in our shower), Mousey (her favorite stuffed animal), Charlie (her best friend) and the list goes on. I am happy to report that “Daddy” finally made the list on day 15! Even though ice cream, flowers and trees were listed before me, I am honored to make the list!
