What Is a Thankful Turkey?
Emily is the MVP of our household. She is very loving, makes our house fun, and is always is coming up with unique ways to teach our girls character traits we want them to embody as they grow older. Last year, we started the tradition of a “Thankful Turkey.” During the month of November, our oldest daughter (Hallie) picks something that she is thankful for each night before she goes to bed, and we write it down on a turkey feather. Hallie gets to pick the color of the feather, and she looks forward to it all day! Harper is looking forward to participating next year.

You can see that Hallie has been thankful for some pretty random things this month… Butterflies, waffles, mermaids, her scooter, ballerinas, Hallie (herself), playing golf with Daddy, and a few others. I am happy to report that “playing golf with Daddy” was one of the first feathers! I was honored to make the list!
Your Thankful Turkey
Maybe you are not going to cut out a paper turkey and tape it to your wall this holiday season, but what are you thankful for? 2020 has been a hard year, but we still have a lot to be thankful for. Have you told the people in your life that you are thankful for them this holiday season? A thankful heart is a happy heart.
