Count Your Blessings
The year of 2020. "Wow" is all we all say. Who could have imagined a global pandemic that would paralyze almost the entire world. Certainly not me nor the great number of experts we read and follow.
As we get closer to “turning the page” and saying goodbye (or maybe good riddance) to 2020, I wanted to share a few thoughts with you. 2020 has certainly been a year of surprises, challenges, disappointments, and will be remembered for a long time. As we move toward Christmas, please take time to look around and count your blessings. I bet there are more blessings (even during a year like 2020) than you realize. My wife Lindy has a famous saying… “It is all about relationships.” 2020 has reminded us once again that life is precious, and we need to stop on a regular basis and reflect on the gifts that we have been given.
Your New Year Resolution
With that being said, let’s take a peek around the corner and look forward to 2021. What are you thinking about for next year? For many of us, the beginning of the new year brings various New Year resolutions.
Working on your personal finances always ranks as a popular new year resolution... and for good reason. Many people view personal finance as a second (or third ) job and spend more time planning the family vacation than they do tending to investment, tax, and estate planning. Perhaps your new year resolution is creating a cash flow plan to retire early or starting that college fund for your grandchildren you meant to start several years ago. Or maybe, the resolution involves increasing your giving to your church or charity of choice.
“A good intention, with a bad approach, often leads to a poor result.” --Thomas A. Edison
What Is A Tuit?
Tuit definition: A circular token that reminds one who obtains it to do something which he said he would do when he got around to it.
Sometimes we over-complicate things and other times our fear of the unknown causes us to put off making a decision. It is easy to fall prey to “I’ll get around to this tomorrow.” There are always distractions in everyday life that keep us from our long term goal or purpose. Don’t put off planning for your financial future for another year!
Conclusion
Planning for your financial future matters, and the “devil is in the details.” There are obviously a lot of moving parts and some of the decisions that may make sense are counterintuitive to the choices normally made. We are huge proponents of our Live Well Plan. Now more than ever.
