Letter From Our Founder

Since I was a teenager, I have felt a calling to help others. I went to college where being a “volunteer” was admired and also encouraged. Now, several years later, I am extremely blessed with a noble and purpose-driven career to help our client families manage their investments, provide their children with a college education, make charitable contributions, retire with confidence, and leave a lasting legacy. As I reflect back to my first year in the financial services industry, I never dreamed of having my own firm, five amazing children, and six grandchildren. Coming from my humble beginnings in Johnson City, Tennessee, I did not grow up dreaming this big. At the risk of sounding cheesy, I sometimes have to pinch myself. It has been a wonderful and rewarding journey. I have been blessed beyond measure with an opportunity to make a difference.

Over the last four decades, we have experienced numerous economic storms, and wavering financial markets. My grandmother used to say, “it is always something.” And she was right! There have been and will always continue to be issues which cause investors to worry, detracting from their quality of life. While worrisome, these volatile periods often present the most appealing opportunities – but only if thoughtful, prudent, and un-emotional decisions are made in the midst of the storm.

Having witnessed and endured numerous periods of market turmoil, I am convinced now more than ever that holistic wealth planning accompanied by a bona fide and repeatable investment management process is key to long-term success. I think Benjamin Graham (Warren Buffett’s mentor) said it most eloquently: “The best way to measure your investing success is not by whether you’re beating the market but by whether you’ve put in place a financial plan and a behavioral discipline that are likely to get you where you want to go.”

I am really proud of the incredible team that stands behind The Price Group. They are a group of dedicated professionals who share my unwavering commitment to our client’s financial well-being. Our continuing goal is to optimize each client family’s wealth so they can worry less and enjoy life more. We will continue to serve with care, competence and compassion. “Making a difference” continues to be our focus and purpose.

One of the most fulfilling parts of my career is looking back at client relationships which have blossomed into decades-long, multi-generational friendships. For a few client families, we are actually serving four generations, a fact which brings me great joy. We take pride that most new clients are introduced by existing clients, referred from other financial service professionals, or have subscribed to our weekly Retirement Insider email.
