A Lot of Information But Limited Knowledge

It is hard to believe that I have been working with Randy for the past 13 years. In some ways, I feel like I have been working with him forever but it also feels like I just started in this profession – please no baby face jokes!

I remember trying to learn as much as I could during the first few years in the wealth management industry. I wanted to drink from the proverbial fire hose. I passed my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ exam to become a CFP® professional in the first two years and immediately started the coursework at Wharton School of Business to obtain my CIMA® designation. I was hungry for knowledge.

After about 3 or 4 years, Randy and I collectively agreed that I was ready to start talking to clients. While I had passed all my exams quickly, I had a lot of information, but didn’t know how best to apply it. It took another few years of talking with clients and then discussing that conversation with Randy to see what needed to be done for that client family... I think this was required for me to have a knowledge of retirement planning and investment management… NOT just a conceptual understanding of the topics.

Fast forward to present day. We are fully aware that there is A LOT of information at your fingertips as it pertains to retirement planning and the managing of an investment portfolio. We are convinced that our Live Well Plan is a great tool to help clients take that information and turn it into knowledge for their personal situation.

At the end of the day, our goal is for clients to have more comfort, confidence, and clarity about their financial future. To do this, we need to draw upon the collective wisdom of people who have walked down this retirement road before you. You only get one chance to retire the “right” way.
